I began by focusing on creating the outline of the face and by slowly developing and creating lines to create depth. By shading and creating the depth it added to the value of the piece as a whole and allowed for the visual image of my grandmother's face to look a little more realistic than when I began. In the future, I would work on how light and dark my shading is because while it did add depth and value to the piece, I believe that I have much to work on in terms of where to incorporate light and dark values and where the light is hitting the figure.
